What's the cancellation policy?
Cancellation rules at a glance:
- More than 24 hours out — free, full refund of the deposit.
- 2 to 24 hours out — late-cancellation fee applies, set by each pro. Most range from $25 to $50 and the exact amount is shown on the pro's profile and on your booking screen.
- Under 2 hours out (or no-show) — the deposit is forfeited. Some pros may also charge for materials they've already prepped (custom-color hair appointments, builder-gel sets).
How to cancel
In the app: tap Bookings → [your booking] → Cancel. You'll see the exact fee that applies before you confirm. Cancellation is immediate; the pro is notified and your slot is released.
Why we have late fees
Mobile pros block off travel time and turn down other bookings to hold your slot. A last-minute cancel often means they can't fill the window. The fee is the pro's compensation for that lost time — Made Glow does not take a cut of cancellation fees.
Exceptions
If you have a genuine emergency (medical, family, weather), message the pro through the in-app chat first — most will waive the fee. If they don't, message [email protected] within 48 hours and we'll review. Documented illness, severe-weather travel advisories, and bereavement are typically waived.
If the pro cancels
You get a full refund (deposit + any pre-auth) plus a $20 booking credit, automatically. We also help you re-book a replacement pro in the same time window if you want. More on pro cancellations and no-shows.
