How does scheduling work for pros?
Made Glow gives pros granular control over availability. Most pros set it once and tweak occasionally; some adjust weekly.
Weekly availability
From Pro app → Schedule → Weekly availability, set hours by day. Default time blocks (e.g., 10am–6pm Tue–Sat) repeat every week. You can have different hours per day; you can split a day into multiple blocks (10am–1pm and 4pm–8pm).
Service area
Drop a pin on your home base and pick a radius (default 25 minutes' drive at non-peak times). Bookings outside the radius can be auto-declined OR require a travel surcharge — your choice. Multi-area pros can define up to 3 service zones with different surcharges.
Minimum lead time
How far out a booking has to be made. Defaults:
- Quick services (mani, blowout, brow shaping) — 30 minutes minimum.
- Standard services (full color, facial, gel set) — 2 hours.
- Complex services (bridal, extensions, multi-step) — 24 hours.
Adjust per-service to match your prep time.
Buffer windows
Time between back-to-back appointments — typically 30 minutes for cross-town travel and resetup. Set a default in Schedule → Buffer; the platform automatically blocks the buffer when a booking confirms.
Auto-accept vs. manual
- Auto-accept (default for established pros) — bookings inside your availability confirm instantly. Best for client experience.
- Manual approval — you have 30 minutes to accept or decline each booking request. Good for pros who want to vet the client list, but slower confirmation hurts your search ranking.
Calendar sync
Connect Google Calendar, iCloud, or Outlook in Settings → Calendar sync. Made Glow blocks any time marked busy on the synced calendar (but doesn't share Made Glow appointment details outbound).
Vacation and time off
Tap Schedule → Add vacation to block a date range. Existing confirmed bookings are NOT auto-cancelled — you'll need to message clients individually or move them.
Standing-appointment clients
When a client favorites you and saves a standing appointment, you'll see "Standing client" in the booking details. These clients pre-book on a fixed cadence; preserving their slots is a strong retention win. More on the client side.
Pause vs. deactivate
Pause stops new bookings but keeps your profile live (good for short breaks). Deactivate hides your profile entirely (good if you're moving or stepping away long-term). Both are reversible.
