ABOUT PROS

Are all Made Glow pros licensed?

Before a pro can be booked, their Florida license must be verified against state board records, unless the services they offer are exempt from licensing under Florida law, such as makeup.

How licenses are verified

During signup, pros enter their license type, number, and state, and upload a photo of the license. Made Glow checks it against Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) records, either through an automated lookup of the public records or by manual review. A pro can't be booked until their license is verified or their services are exempt.

Exempt services

Florida law (section 477.0135, Florida Statutes) exempts some services from cosmetology licensing, such as applying makeup.

Florida only

Made Glow currently accepts pros in Florida, so licenses are checked against Florida records. Pros whose license or service area is outside Florida are added to a waitlist.

The Licensed badge

A pro whose license has been verified shows a Licensed badge on their profile. You can look up Florida licenses yourself on the DBPR website.

Keeping licenses current

In the Pro Agreement, pros agree to keep their license information current, to tell Made Glow within three business days if their license is suspended, revoked, or disciplined, and that Made Glow can check their license status with the DBPR at any time.

At-client appointments

Pros offer appointments at a client's location only if they've confirmed they hold the authorization to provide services there. Otherwise, they work at their own location.
