How does Made Glow vet beauty professionals?
Vetting is non-negotiable on Made Glow. Before a Pro can take their first booking, they have to clear two independent checks — license verification against the issuing state board, and a background check run by Checkr. The canonical reference for our verification standards lives at /safety; this article is the consumer-facing summary.
License verification
The Pro enters their license number during onboarding. We cross-check it against the issuing state board’s public database in real time — in Florida, the DBPR Online Services portal. The check returns license type, status (active/suspended/expired), original issue date, and any disciplinary history. Expired, suspended, or revoked licenses fail onboarding immediately. More on licensing.
Background check
Checkr runs the background check, consistent with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and applicable state law. Specific results are confidential under FCRA — we don’t publish individual case data. Where adverse action is required, the Pro receives the FCRA-mandated notice and the Checkr-hosted copy of their report. More on background checks.
Keeping licenses current
Pros agree in the Pro Agreement to keep their license information current and to notify Made Glow promptly of any change in license status. If a Pro’s license has lapsed or been suspended, they’re paused from accepting new bookings until it’s resolved. You can verify any Made Glow Pro’s license yourself at any time through the relevant state board (in Florida, the DBPR or DOH public lookups).
