How do I become a beauty pro on Made Glow?

Becoming a Made Glow Pro is selective by design so the marketplace stays high-quality. The full overview is on /for-pros; the application checklist is here.

What you need before applying

• Active state license for every service you want to offer (cosmetology, nail technician, esthetician, LMT). Expired or pending-renewal licenses are not accepted.
• Government-issued photo ID matching your license name.
• Portfolio — recent photos of your work. Cell-phone photos are fine; in-focus and well-lit matters more than camera quality.
• References — we may contact past clients, colleagues, or studios where you’ve worked.
• Bank account or debit card for Stripe Connect payouts. Payout details here.
• Liability insurance. Pros on Made Glow are independent contractors and are responsible for carrying their own general-liability and professional-liability (malpractice) insurance. Made Glow does not provide platform-funded liability insurance. See the Pro Agreement for the controlling terms.

The application flow

1. Identity verification — Checkr live-selfie + ID match.
2. License verification — we cross-check your license number with the issuing state board (in Florida, the DBPR Online Services portal).
3. Background check — run by Checkr, consistent with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and applicable state law. The background-check fee is non-refundable and pass-through. Specific results are confidential per FCRA. More on background checks.
4. Portfolio review — our team reviews your portfolio and may contact your references.

What we score on portfolio

• Technique — clean lines, even color, good cut shape, polished finish.
• Range — multiple skin tones, hair textures, age groups, styles.
• Consistency — your strongest photos look like the same person did them.

If you’re declined

You’ll receive feedback. If a license-verification or background-check decision is involved, you’ll receive the FCRA-mandated notice and the dispute path.

After approval

You’re onboarded into the Made Glow Pro app, set your availability, finalize your profile, and start accepting bookings. Scheduling guide here.

The economics

Made Glow’s marketplace fees are disclosed in /terms §6 and the Pro Agreement §4: 15% on a Pro’s first booking with a given client, 4% on returning bookings, plus a $1.99 consumer service fee. 100% of tips go to the Pro. Payout flow.
