The role
You'll be a senior engineer on a small mobile team responsible for both the consumer and Pro apps in our React Native + Expo monorepo. Both apps are in the App Store and Google Play today, and the work you ship reaches real customers within a release cycle.
- Own large feature areas — booking flow, messaging, scheduling, payments — from spec to App Store release.
- Ship native-quality experiences in React Native, paying close attention to perceived performance, gesture feel, and accessibility.
- Partner with backend (Cloudflare Workers) and design (Figma) on tightly scoped, fast-moving feature work — typically a one- to two-week ship cadence.
- Own EAS build, OTA update, and release pipelines. Investigate and resolve runtime crashes via Sentry.
- Mentor and code-review across the mobile codebase. Help shape the standards we hold ourselves to.
About you
- 5+ years building production mobile apps, with at least 2 years on React Native.
- You've shipped to the App Store and Google Play more than once and you're comfortable with the operational side of a release: code-signing, version compatibility, store reviews, OTA strategy.
- Strong TypeScript. You understand the React rendering model and can reason about state management without reaching for a heavy library by default.
- Comfortable in native land when you need to be — Swift / Kotlin reads, native-module debugging, performance traces.
- Care about craft. Shipping fast is not an excuse to ship something that feels wrong on a real device.
- Clear writer. You can spec out a feature, document trade-offs, and run a tight code review.
Bonus points
- Experience with Expo, EAS Build, and EAS Update at scale.
- Background in marketplace, gig-economy, or two-sided consumer products.
- Have built and maintained a design system in React Native.
- Have shipped real-time messaging or geolocation features.
- You've owned crash-rate or perceived-performance metrics before.
Compensation
Equity in every offer plus competitive cash compensation. The cash range and equity grant are confirmed during the interview process so the conversation is grounded in your actual seniority and location, not a copy-paste range.
